Clearwing Hummingbird Moth

Just an amazing little creature!  The Clearwing Hummingbird Moth is about two inches in length and does an excellent job of mimicking a hummingbird. Their flight is similar to a hummingbird - erratic and quick. Their food sources are almost identical and they're both shy when approached with a camera. I found this specimen feeding on a Thistle flower and was very fortunate to come away with one keeper image.

What a beautiful creature! The detail you get with your photos is amazing and you allow others to see more than we could possibly see with the naked eye. Hope you will keep up the great work!
